GLM Marine aftermarket lower gearcase drawing shows internal 4-1/4 inch hub components and their location.
In 1991 some unit have the redesigned with a stronger propeller shaft 1-1/4 inch in diameter. This shaft GLM Marine part number 22417 requires a thrust washer between the shaft shoulder and the reverse gear. The bearing carrier was also changed with 2 hold down tabs and two 5/16 inch bolts. This type of bearing carrier will only work for years 1991 and newer housings with notches for hold down tabs.
At time of printing we have only used original OMC bearing carriers years 1986 thru 1990 with four 1/4 inch N.F. bolts pattern that requires retainer plate and two internal retainer rings.
