OMC boat steering going the wrong way

Left or Right - Not Sure

Remove OMC stern drive unit
Place a line with a black marker on the intermediate housing steering gear.
Turn the steering wheel clock-wise
Check to see the direction the steering gear turned.
Goes right you need upper gear case with right handed worm gear ( 7 D and 5 D ) are numbers on the two I checked.
Goes left you need upper gear case with left hand worm gear ( WN19 / 262 ) is number on the one I checked.
