Lower gear case repair for 10 and 8 bolt swivel housing models includes:
Replacing or repairing
forward or reverse spring, new drive shaft bearing, new seals, pressure testing. Swivel housing is sand blasted and painted.
Lower vertical seals 2 units that are offset to land on a different position on shaft in case of previous drive shaft
wear.
Prop shaft bearing retainer is machined to hold 3 seals that will locate in different position on the prop
shaft.
Bearing retainer is then sand blasted and painted.
Additional parts and costs may be required for
repair.
Note: broken clutch spring breaking on the gear face included with basic repair.
If how ever the
clutch spring can not be repaired a used spring will be installed adding $55.00 to the cost of the basic repair.

Zinc chromate and primer with a white epoxy paint for lower unit (if requested) - $129.89
The following may be required if your electric shift lower unit has run in salt water for periods of time :Drill old
hole 13/64 in aluminum 3/4 inch deep. Tap hole with #5401-4 helicoil 1/4 -20 inch thread Place loctite retaining compound
#680 or #609 on helicoil to hold tread in place Insert stainless steel coil and break off installation tab on bottom.
Cost of $17.95 per required helicoil.

machine that is used to weld aluminum outdrives. The flat rates to tig welding aluminum lower units is $90.00

can tig weld electric shift upper or lower gearcases do to impact damage for years 1967 to 1977 in most cases.
Outdrives
with broken skeg or lower unit aluminum top fin in most cases the sterndrive can be left together. With our new high
frequency arc, square wave, fast freezing puddle and deep penetration there is a lower amount of heat generated.
